Proposals to be developed to improve the quality of education in Presidential and creative schools

The qualified administrative and teaching staff of the Presidential and Creative Schools will develop plans to improve the activities of educational institutions, based on the tasks set by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a video conference on improving the education and upbringing system, accelerating the development of science in the country.

The video conference was held on 30 October 2020 and it was chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The importance of studying and introducing the world’s best curricula and teaching methods in the country’s schools, as well as improving the activities of educational institutions, was emphasized.

The Agency for Development of Presidential, Creative and Specialized Schools under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (PIIMA) will organize seminars for principals of Presidential schools on 6-7 November and for heads of creative schools on 9-10 November to ensure the tasks set by the head of state.

During a seminar for principals of Presidential schools, the results of the activities of educational institutions over the past year, as well as issues of improving educational and educational work, will be discussed.

In particular, the participants will consider the issues of teaching children STEAM subjects, preparing gifted students for subject Olympiads, creating a system for retraining teachers with the participation of foreign teachers.

The issues of establishing cooperation between educational institutions and the teaching staff of the Ministry of Public Education and PIIMA for the exchange of experience and teaching methodology will also be discussed.

Presidential schools should become an integral system for identifying gifted children, their education and upbringing using advanced technologies. They must develop in students a highly organized thinking and teach the effective application of the knowledge gained.

The directors of the creative schools, in turn, will make a presentation of the educational institutions they lead to the guests and the leadership of PIIMA.

After that, the participants of the seminar will discuss the issues of improving curricula in creative schools, the creation of specialized educational methodologies and methodologies. Issues on improving the qualifications of teachers and creating conditions for students to demonstrate talents will be considered separately.

- During the video conference, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev set a task to improve the quality of education in our country. With the help of these seminars, we want to discuss with school principals the shortcomings in the work of educational institutions, issues of selection and retraining of teachers, and most importantly, the creation of modern textbooks using the best practices of foreign countries, ‘noted PIIMA director Khilola Umarova.

Based on the results of the seminars, the Agency for = Development of Presidential, Creative and Specialized Schools under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan plans to develop an action plan to improve the activities of schools and improve the quality of education. Special attention will be paid to the issues of vocational guidance of students.

It should be noted that at present there are 4 Presidential, 9 creative and 3 specialized schools in the PIIMA system, where 3397 students are studying.
