Presidential schools:
The Presidential School is a specialized public educational institution whose activities are aimed at identifying and educating gifted children to train highly qualified specialists.
14 Presidential schools will be established in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 20, 2019 PP-4199 "On measures to establish presidential schools" in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent.
In 2019, Presidential boarding schools were opened in Tashkent, Khiva, Nukus and Namangan.
The initial limited number of presidential schools is due to the need to test a completely new model for the management of these institutions. Presidential schools are planned to be built in all regions of Uzbekistan from 2020 to 2021.
Free general secondary education is provided in presidential schools.
The main purpose of the Presidential schools is to identify and educate gifted children through the use of advanced technologies in the educational process, as well as to support and encourage gifted youth, to enrich the spiritually rich and ensuring guarantees of upbringing of intellectually developed generation.
The main tasks and priorities of the Presidential School:
- to identify, select and educate gifted children, create conditions for their full development, as well as reveal the intellectual, scientific and creative potential of students;
- to organize in-depth study of natural and exact sciences, mastering foreign languages, engineering and information technologies, to create the necessary conditions for the development of innovative ideas and developments of students;
- to establish modern methods of teaching and assessing students' knowledge, as well as an interdisciplinary approach to teaching based on the integration of educational programs, and then apply the positive experience to the public education system of the republic;
- to direct students to the profession, to develop their leadership skills and public speaking skills, to improve their skills in critical thinking, information retrieval, analysis and processing, to apply the acquired knowledge in practice;
- to ensure the proper participation of students in international Olympiads, competitions and contests in general education subjects;
- to form in students a sense of patriotism and love for the Fatherland, tolerance, respect for laws, national and universal values, strong beliefs and views on life;
- to establish cooperation with national and foreign general secondary and higher education institutions in the same field to ensure the continuity of curricula, to continue the education of graduates in advanced foreign universities and their branches in the country.
