International exchange of experience is a priority

 

The Agency for the Development of the Presidential, Creativity and Specialized Schools   cooperate with educational institutions of foreign countries, international organizations operating in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, improve the quality of foreign language teaching and launch the project "Skills and Cultural Exchange". Extensive work has been done. We talked to Nilufar Tursunova, the head of the International Cooperation Department of the Agency.

1. Tell us about the work carried out by the Agency on cooperation with educational institutions of foreign countries, international organizations operating in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and future plans…

Currently, the International Cooperation Department aims to develop all schools under the Agency, further increase the educational capacity of staff, continuous monitoring of curricula and international exchange of experience and staff training in the process of ensuring the quality of education in line with international standards. By supporting ongoing projects, it is strengthening cooperation with the world's most advanced educational institutions and international organizations.

In particular, the Cambridge Assessment's STEAM subject curricula have been implemented in Presidential schools, and students are taught on the basis of programs that meet international educational standards. Under the Cambridge Assessment and Agency Agreement, a partnership has been established to ensure the transparency of the selection process and examinations for admission to Presidential schools.

To date, IBM and the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi Specialized School have organized additional classes for students in computer science and information technology. Negotiations are underway to provide additional training to continue the next phases of these programs in the 2021–2022 academic year.

2. What is being done to improve the quality of foreign language teaching in the Agency's creative and specialized schools?

In order to improve the quality of foreign language teaching in creative and specialized schools under the Agency, to organize the most modern master classes for students with the intention of introducing translation skills, to attract high-potential foreign teachers, to improve the skills of local teachers. agreements are being implemented. Foreign languages ​​are taught in depth at the Ishakhan Ibrat boarding school, which specializes in foreign languages ​​(English, French, German).

During a meeting with the staff of the Goethe-Institut's education department on May 10 this year through the ZOOM platform, we got acquainted with a number of new projects proposed by the institute. These projects are aimed at helping students to study for free at leading German universities in the future. These proposals have been submitted to the Agency's methodology department for consideration, and negotiations are scheduled to continue in the coming days.

The visit of Mark Edward Reese, author of the English translation of the famous Uzbek writer Abdullah Qadiri's book "Bygone Days", a citizen of the United States, a high-ranking translator and academician, to the Abdullah Qadiri School of Creativity under the Agency on April 29 was organized at a high level. During the talks after the visit, Mr. Reese said he was impressed by the knowledge and intelligence of the students at the Abdullah Qadiri School of Creativity and got acquainted with the Agency's plans for the development of the school. Mr. Reese expressed his desire to contribute to the development of the School of Creativity by organizing master classes in translation for students of the Abdullah Qadiri School of Creativity. Terms of cooperation with Mr. Reese are currently being negotiated.

Uzbekistan is cooperating with the MASHAV organization of the Israeli Embassy to exchange experience in the field of education with the staff of the Agency.

We are cooperating with the Canadian organization Teach Away to attract and select foreign teachers to the Agency's schools.

On April 19, Kulyash Nogatayevna, head of the Nazarbayev Autonomous Intellectual Schools, and Amirullo Abdullayev, deputy director of the Agency, signed a memorandum.
