Official statement of PIIMA

Various announcements published on the Internet about preparatory courses for children who plan to enter the Presidential Schools and the School named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi.

The announcements say that preparatory courses in mathematics and English are being offered to students. Also, some announcements claim that in 2020, students of the training center entered the Presidential Schools and the Muhammad al-Khorezmi School with high scores.

In connection with this situation, the Agency for Development of Presidential, Creative and Specialized Schools under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan informs:

First, the training courses called “preparatory courses for the Presidential Schools and the School named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi” have nothing to do with the Presidential Schools and the School named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi.

Secondly, during the entrance examinations to Presidential Schools, candidates solve tasks that require critical thinking and logic. The mathematics exam can only be taken as an additional qualifying round.

Thirdly, the information that the students of the training center entered the Presidential School and the School named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi in 2020 with high scores is not correct. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, entrance exams for the Presidential Schools were not held. Obviously, the students of the training center could not take the first places in the list of applicants.

The Agency for Development of Presidential, Creative and Specialized Schools under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan urges parents to be vigilant.

Reliable information about exams and admission to schools of the agency system can be found on the official website of the Agency for Development of Presidential, Creative and Specialized Schools under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (www.piima.uz), as well as on the agency’s official pages of social networks.
