Students of the Presidential School in Tashkent receive basic knowledge of coding

Students of the Presidential School in Tashkent took part in the master class "Hour of Code" and received basic knowledge of coding.

The master class was organized by the Agency for Development of Presidential, Creative and Specialized Schools under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (PIIMA).

- Information technologies have become a part of our life, and in order to be competitive in the labor market today it is necessary to have knowledge in this direction. We plan to regularly conduct such master classes for students of subordinate schools to show our children that coding can be interesting and exciting. In the near future, the students of the PIIMA system schools will also have the opportunity to take part in other master classes and training sessions on coding, -said PIIMA Deputy Director Amirulla Abdullaev.

Teachers of the Specialized School named after Muhammad al-Khorezmi with in-depth study of subjects in the direction of information and communication technologies were involved in the master class as trainers.

The trainers used the Hero’s Journey programming lessons based on the popular Minecraft game. The lessons were developed by Microsoft Corporation.

Microsoft engineers have created this program to help children learn the basics of computer science in a simple and fun way during school activities, classroom hours and homework.

The authors creatively present the reader with the basic concepts and principles of programming with the help of Agents - entertaining characters.

- I was impressed by the master class. The workshop was interesting and we created various games using Minecraft. I got a basic knowledge of programming. I hope that the work on organizing such events will continue and we will get more opportunities to gain new knowledge and skills, noted Farangiz Abdukakhkhorova, a student of the Presidential School in Tashkent.
