PIIMA and JICA discuss promising areas of cooperation

 

The Agency for the Development of Presidential, Creative and Specialized Schools under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (PIIMA) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) discussed promising areas of cooperation between the two organizations.
Director of the Agency for the Development of Presidential, Creative and Specialized Schools, Sarvar Babakhodjaev, received a delegation of JICA led by the chief representative of the organization’s representative office in Uzbekistan Takasaka Muneo.
The meeting was held in the building of the Presidential School in Tashkent. At the beginning of the meeting, the guests were informed about the activities of the Agency and the schools that are part of its structure.
During the meeting, the head of the Agency shared his vision on the establishment and development of cooperation between the two organizations.
In particular, according to the Uzbek side, the agencies could cooperate in improving the content of curricula and the quality of education, teacher training, and attracting teachers from Japan to PIIMA schools, including for teaching the Japanese language.
The parties considered the issues of sending graduates of PIIMA schools to leading universities in Japan for training through grants from the Japanese side.
It was also proposed to establish twinning relations between schools in Uzbekistan and Japan for the development of various joint initiatives.
In turn, the head of the JICA office in Uzbekistan, Takasaka Muneo, spoke about the agency’s projects being implemented in Uzbekistan.
The Japanese side liked the idea of twin schools. It was noted that there may be Japanese schools wishing to establish such ties with schools in Uzbekistan.
Takasaka Muneo added that due to the situation with the coronavirus, all projects are now frozen and the parties can continue to discuss specific projects after removing all restrictions, the introduction of the COVID-19 pandemic.
